While the city home to the fifth largest multi-commodity port in Australia, its natural deep-water harbour is within the World Heritage Area of the Great Barrier Reef and provides access to the centre of the Southern Reef. Gladstone lies in the middle of an area of secluded beaches and scenic national parks.
This sunny, regional river city has so much to offer. With the warm climate, proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and several National Parks Rockhampton is the perfect place for a real Queensland holiday. Only 25 minutes out of Rockhampton, Yeppoon is renowned for its beaches, tropical climate and collection of islands out on the bay. The unblemished beaches and shallow coves provide a quiet yet active destination for tourists and people in the local area.
