Mackay
Situated on the east coast of Queensland not far from the Whitsundays, Mackay is known as the sugar capital of Australia; responsible for the production of more than a third of Australia’s cane sugar. Tourism in the area has started to flourish as more and more people are realising the value of this town’s ideal position between the Great Barrier Reef and Eungella National Park while still retaining a friendly, country town mentality.
