Kangaroo Point
Kangaroo Point is a suburb just over the river from Brisbane City. The trendy area is popular for the parklands surrounding the Kangaroo Point Cliffs on the east bank of the river. From the top of the cliffs there are fantastic views of the city and Botanic Gardens, while the parks at the top and bottom are popular for picnics, runners and cyclists.
The most interesting feature of Kangaroo Point is the popularity of the spot for rock climbers. By day or night you’ll find amateur and experienced rock climbers alike scaling the cliff faces with rock to their front and the city to their backs. The sight is something to behold at night when ground lights illuminate the cliff faces as the rise out of the darkness of the parklands.
