Snorkelling on Lady Elliott Island
From Lady Elliot Island in the Whitsundays, some of the best diving of the Great Barrier Reef is merely a step off the beach into the shallows. Snorkelling here is fabulous for beginners as the lagoon protects the area from the rougher waters of the sea. A little further out experienced divers can descend into the Coral Sea. The reef surrounding Lady Elliot Island is absolutely teeming with marine life which includes an impressive population of Manta Rays.
