Cooktown
Travelling along the east coast of Australia, Cooktown is the last piece of civilisation before you hit the wilderness of the Cape York Peninsula. Named for the time Captain Cook spent here in 1770, Cooktown is a lovely tropical town that enjoys a very warm climate, clear ocean waters and lush green forests and gardens.
