Lake Awoonga
Only 30km out of Gladstone, Lake Awoonga is home to a myriad of bird and plant life. There’s a 24 hour boat ramp that supports the swimming, boating, water sports and fishing that’s wildly popular on the lake, particularly as you can fish for barramundi all year round. There are barbecues, picnic shelters and walking paths all around the area so visitors can enjoy being on dry land too.
