Maryborough Map
Maryborough is located on the Fraser Coast of Queensland, about 4 hours drive north of Brisbane and 2 hours 20 mins north of Noosa Heads.
The sand island - Fraser Island - lies just off the coast and is home to Platypus Bay, Cathedral Beach, Kingfisher Bay, Happy Valley and Eurong, and the Great Sandy National Park.
To the south of Maryborough is Tin Can Bay; a fishing and boating paradise that is also renowned for its visiting wild dolphins. Inland are the towns of Gympie, Kilkivan, Goomeri, Murgon, Cherbourg, Wondai, Kingaroy and Nanango. The Bunya Mountains, Jack Smith Scrub National Park and Cooloola National Park are also in the area south of Maryborough offering bushwalking tracks that range from easy to quite strenuous.
Urangan Boat Harbour and Hervey Bay are situated to the north of Maryborough, while only a short drive inland are the towns of Torbanlea and Howard.
