Toowoomba and the Golden West Map

Toowoomba is a picturesque mountain city known for its beautiful parks, gardens, cathedrals and breathtaking views of Table Top Mountain and the Lockyer Valley below.

Each year Toowoomba hosts the “Australian Carnival of Flowers”, involving a street parade and several other family activities.

Located about 1.5 hours drive west of Brisbane, the town acts as the urban centre and gateway to the golden west towns of Oakey, Pittsworth, Crows Nest, Dalby, Tara, Chinchilla, Miles, Roma, St George, Goondiwindi and Millmerran.

The Golden West is named for the region’s gold mining history. While the gold miners are gone now you’ll find rolling plains, relaxed rural townships, B&Bs, classic Aussie pubs, gorgeous National Parks and an area rich in pioneering history.
